I went to St Anne's Junior school in the 50's, and was a parishioner at the same Church.
I remember having my first communion, wearing white shirt and yellow tie, and the girls wearing white dresses
I had happy times at the school with Mrs McNulty as the head/deputy and Canon Bates. There was another priest sounds like Father Frau. I remember the children had a group photo and each child received a copy, I unfortunately don't have mine.
2 years ago I called into St Annes, and found it to be so small, probably because there are no side aisle as I remember

I often look on your very good website as I work for the Sisters of Nazareth at the retirement village just down the road!

We are having an Open day on Weds 23rd August at 2pm if anyone would like to take a look BUT do let me know on the above email as we need numbers for catering.

I moved away from the Sacred Heart parish in 2013 after 57 years of worshipping there.
I read the newsletter ..when it is put on the website and love to see how the church and parishioners are and all the events arranged.
My best wishes to all who remember me..I miss the Saturday evening Mass I attended and all the lovely hymns we sang.
God bless you all!

I was evacuated from London to Blackburn during WW2 and was a parishioner of St Anne's and also an alter server. Father Bamber was the parish priest at the time.
