Today the children of St Anne’s make their First Holy Communion on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The Church at St Anne’s looks beautiful for this special occasion, and I would like to thank all those who have worked so hard to prepare and decorate it.
On Friday, I spent some time with the children at St Anne’s School. It was a joy to see their excitement and anticipation as they prepare for this important day in their faith journey.
Can you remember your own First Holy Communion? Perhaps you can recall the excitement of the day, the gathering of family and friends, or the sense of being part of something special. Today is an opportunity to give thanks for the gift of the Eucharist and to pray for our children as they receive Our Lord in Holy Communion for the first time.
Please keep them and their families in your prayers as they celebrate this wonderful milestone.
Happy Corpus Christi.
