Our party of 19 enjoyed a lovely day-out on Tuesday, travelling through the beautiful Cumbrian fells and valleys bathed in sunshine before spending the afternoon in Carlisle, the highlight for many a guided tour of the stunning, beautifully-maintained cathedral dating back to the twelfth century.
Our thanks to Richard for his detailed research of the journey and of the amenities of Carlisle which ensured the smooth running of the excursion.
