The Mayor of Blackburn
Councillor Dorothy Walsh returned to her former parish of St. Annes to
officially open the flower festival on Thursday 21st September. She then enjoyed a guided tour around the church with event organiser Joan Entwistle. (shown next to one of the displays.) The event has taken over two years of planning, and, in the last week, has involved some 30 - 40 volunteers working solidly every day in order to create the stunning displays depicting many bible themes, from the Bread of Life at the entrance through to the Resurrection at the main altar. |
